Meca 5th grade students are taking the OAA tests, having prepared through a vigorous year of work!

They work different activities such as Hamburger and Hotdog fractions. They also watch videos teaching them about math in raps such as Just Line up the Dot and Give It All You've Got and Mr. Dewey's Math Rap.

Every day they use helpful Smartboard slides  and they get a chance to interact with it such as revealing the goal of the day or solving a given math problem that goes with the lesson.

Every week the students are given a weekly math review paper that must be completed and turned in by Thursday. They also recieve "I Can" papers that tell them what they need to know for upcoming quizzes and tests. In addition, the papers give them practice by having a problem or two to solve.

Sometimes students may stay in the classroom for Intervention to create their own Smartboard slides to present to the rest of the class.

Some students like the interactive activities the best.Others enjoy the cool Smartboard slides. But they also do not like the sometimes challenging homework.
